So come along and join us as we dive into bada!
The emergence of mobile platforms has brought about the proliferation of a tremendous number of mobile applications. Still applications running in a standalone mode are popular, while the number of software as a service (SaaS) applications is not insignificant.
What is the definition of “service” in the context of a service oriented application?
It may differ depending on the situation. However, we refer to those retrieving, processing, and delivering well-tailored information specifically as users want.
Samsung bada is committed to be a service oriented platform. In other words, bada is the one that talks to various services, not the applications. Developers are free from having to learn how to bind services with their applications in service-specific manner. What you need to do as a developer is to simply use the services in the bada API, then bada automagically does all the work on behalf of you. Moreover, our bada development team has optimized service-to-bada platform connections, thereby ensuring a better user-experience in terms of performance and reliability.
Especially we are focusing on social network features with our global SNS partners: Facebook, My Space, and Twitter*. Local SNSs are also important to us and we are looking for prospective partner companies.
Such ready-to-use service integration is enabled by the bada server cloud in the back end. Samsung has invested extensive resources in building the servers. We also have prepared a rich, developer-friendly environment and support system for bada developers. In brief, bada aims to be a pioneering service oriented platform giving better user-experiences to customers, simplifying the development process for developers, and increasing the revenue of the service providers.
More interesting service features that bada provides are to be introduced soon.
